Rafflesia Arnoldii ( Corpse Flower) is as very rare species. it was first discovered in 1818. and it only appears in the Rainforest of Borneo and Sumatra.(Indonesia)
This parasitic flower actually has no visible leaves, roots, or stem. it only can be sensed when the buds
appear on the host vine. and for the structure of Rafflesia Arnoldii, the center of the flower has many vertical spines.
It doesn't grows really tall like any other huge flowers. it just stay close to the ground but it is up to 1meter width.




 

to preserve

As you can know, Rafflesia Arnoldii is a really rare flower.
I think, we really need to keep it exists. why?
1, Rafflesia Arnoldii is the largest flower in the world.
2. Some Indonesia actually consider it as the national flower of Indonesia.

How can we preserve it?
First, due to the fact that Rafflesia Arnoldii usually grows in the wet environment. People really need to stop cutting down those trees and plants in the forerest. the more people destoryed the more plants will be extinct. Not only for Rafflesia Arnoldii, but also for all of these plants and animals that live in the forerest.

Rafflesia Arnoldii is the biggest founded flower in the world. It is one of the Rafflesia plants. A Rafflesia is a genus for all of these huge flowers around the ecosystem.
It was first founded in Indonesia by Sir Stamford Raffles one of the 1818 Indonesian rainforest expedition.

By now, you might stared to think if it is the largest flower in the world then How big exactly it is ?
according to the records, the largest size a Rafflesia Arnoldii can grow is 10 kilograms. I know it is hard to imagine a flower in that size. there's the picture for you to kind of have an idea how big it is.



Strangely, A beautiful flower like Rafflesia Arnoldii should have a specific smell that attracts insects and animals. But the truth is, it actually smells like rotten meat!! because of its smell, the Rafflesia Arnoldii has a nickname- "Corpse Flower"
That is also why it survives by attaching itself to a plant and leeching water and nutrients from it. which means it is a kind of parasite.

By now, you should clearly know that Rofflesia Arnoldii aren't those scary flowers that eats you and mammals from your imagination. not only parasite, also , Rafflesia Arnoldii is not poison. that is why it is considered as an endanger plant.
